Brecciated Jasper
The cabochon for this one came from a large brecciated jasper of unknown origin. I've seen something very similar
from Northern California. Beyond that, it has no location-specific name that I know of. There were many quarzty veins running all through it but most was pitted or
unstable.
I managed to find a few solid sections and made a beautiful set of cabs. The clear sections
are mostly transparent so what you see is little yellow
pieces floating inside the stone. You can really see the deapth of this one when it's outside
in the sun. The pendant
as a whole measures 1.5 inches long.
