Unknown Poppy Jasper
This is a type of poppy jasper from San Francisco the bay area. It is characterized by small red (brick red) and orange orbs tightly packed in a grey matrix. This is a relatively unknown and rare poppy jasper. It is very different from the Morgan Hill type or poppy japser. Though both are part of the Franciscan Complex, a geologic formation running up the west coarst of California, this appears to have been formed from a different deposit and by different geologic processes. It is a truly unique stone.
