Here's another stunning Morgan HIll Poppy Jasper wire wrap pendant. This type of jasper is a favorite of mine. Sure, it's difficult to cut and hard to find but the results are amazing. This stone has an interesting story. I cut the cabochon and it sat around for a while. I just couldn't figure out how to wrap it. Nothing I tried really gave the stone justice. Thing is, I kept trying to orient it lengthwise. I did a lot of drawing and planning but none of the designs worked. Then one day I turned the stone 90 degrees and there it was. Sometimes by overthinking things you miss the obvious. I knew exactly how it would come out the minute I oriented it width-wise. This is one of my favorite pieces. There is a surface fracture in the stone, as is the nature of this type of jasper but it does not detract from the strength or beauty of this pendant.
