Petrified Wood
This scenic wire wrap features a Petrified Wood cabochon. This stone is known as Arizona Rainbow Wood for it't stunning colors. I oriented this stone to show off it's landscape like quality. You can almost imagine it as an Arizona sunset with the giant Saguaro cacti in the distance. It doesn't even seem like petrifed wood unitl you think about it as such. Look at it on it's side and try to imagine the black parts as the bark and
the redish parts as the inside of the tree/branch! Petrified wood forms over millions of years when the tree is preserved and is slowly replaced by minerals leeching in
from the soil and groundwater. Eventually, it becomes a rock- and in this case, a beautiful pendant. It is done in gold-filled wire and measures about 2 inches in length.
