Purple Sage Agate
This sage agate was quite find. It started out as what I thought was a normal brown rock in the rock pile of a local rock shop. I had no idea that it would reveal a beautiful purple interior when I cut into it. Now here it is finished and in pendant-form.
This type of stone comes from Nevada and is characterized by predominantly purple, yellow and creme colored zones with black dendrites (those little black bits you see near the bottom). What is interesting is that this rock is unusually consistant in color. It's a nice light purple with nice black dendrites. I went with a pleasing half round shape and a playful swirly setting. It's done in sterling silver. It measures 1.25 inches in length.
