Robert L. Rush: The Truth
The Unauthorized
biography of Robert L. Rush
Forward
It
started the way it always does. My agent called. The Third Republic
wanted me to do a celebrity bio on the infamous right wing commentator Robert
L. Rush. I set to the task in the usual way. I contacted his people who sent me
his official bio and set up an interview. I started doing the background and
the facts all checked out, but I could sense there was something they weren't
telling me. Methodically I picked at the threads of the story until I hit a
name, which I cannot divulge at this time, which caused the story to unravel
into a bizarre and sinister scenario that I was ill-prepared to reconcile.
The interview took
place by the pool at Rush's Malibu
home, in the presence of his press agent and Mr. Rush's "advisor", a
Machiavellian character Rush introduced as "The Colonel". The
interview was proceeding routinely until I made reference to the name I had
unearthed in my digging for the truth. Suddenly, on a subtle cue from the
Colonel, the press agent terminated the interview and hustled me to my car. The
next day my agent called to tell me that Third Republic
had canceled the article. This only confirmed my suspicions. These suspicions
were further reinforced when shortly after the interview two of my sources
(which I have never divulged) met with untimely, and fatal, accidents. At that
point I realized that I had been drawn into the story, and that the deaths had
been meant as much to send a message to me as to cut off the flow of
information. But I will not be silenced. The people have a right to know the
truth, regardless the cost. That being said, I must proceed carefully in order
to ensure the safety of my sources. For those willing to be patient, the truth
will be revealed. And the truth will scare the hell out of you.
