Environmentalism = Commie Conspiracy

By Robert L. Rush

The current energy crisis on the left coast has brought the commies bubbling to the surface in the Peoples Republic of California. While the lights flicker and their utility companies teeter on the edge of bankruptcy, the commies...through their cohorts in the liberal media...have used the crisis as an excuse to implement a radical socialist agenda of price controls and government regulation of the power industry. Some of the more brazen bolsheviks in that recidivist outpost of radical far left thinking have called for a government takeover of the state's power industry. Other's, in line with standard communist expansionist doctrine, have proposed that price controls be implemented on a national level in order to bring out of state energy suppliers firmly under the heel of the commie boot. On cue, the state's liberal media has taken up the cry...blasting the profits of energy producers as "obscene", accusing those producers of conspiring to contrive a phony crisis in order to jack up prices, and calling for a roll-back of the state's deregulation of the utility industry.

The Bush administration, as expected, has rejected price controls and focused on the real cause of California's energy problems; the states stringent environmental laws...laws that were put into place by the same gang of commie agitators that are now advocating government intervention in the private sector. For decades now the subversive element has been sowing the seeds of revolution in the Golden State, campaigning against offshore drilling, nuclear power, logging on public and private property...taking every opportunity to impose government intrusion into the lives of it citizens. This is the state that invented "second-hand smoke" and then used it to discriminate against smokers in bars, restaurants, and other public places. The state where they enact restrictive "greenbelt" and "open space" laws and then whine about the lack of affordable housing. A state where they battle pollution with giving a thought to what would happens to thousands of workers in the multi-billion dollar filtration industry if pollution was eliminated. Now the liberals are preaching "energy conservation" in order to extend their reach into private home and businesses and tell you which lights you can and can't turn on, even to the point that during the holiday season these marxist/atheists were chastising the display of Christmas lights.

WAKE UP AMERICA! To those of us who have battled communism all our lives this feint by the left is classic marxist/leninist strategy; you create a crisis and then during the chaos step in and seize power. For years this leftist cabal has conspired to oppose the building of power plants and the damming of rivers in order to bring about the this crisis so that they could gain control of the states power grid. This has the smell of 1917 all over again. And if California falls, the domino effect will sweep this nation into the waiting arms of the communist oppressors.

Deregulation of California's utility industry, the dream and the legacy of former Governor Pete Wilson, is not the problem...it's a solution that hasn't been carried to it's natural conclusion. In order for deregulation to work ALL regulatory obstacles need to be removed from the path of progress. A state of emergency should be declared and all environmental and zoning laws immediately suspended. Texas, which underwent a thorough regulatory reform under George W. Bush, stands as a shining model not just for California, but the rest of the nation. I heartily endorse the Bush administration's proposal to build power plants in Mexico as a bold foreign policy initiative. While many Americans regard Mexico as an unsavory third world backwater, it possesses two elements vital to a free Republic...an abundance of cheap labor and a lack of regulatory enforcement (at least if you know which palms to grease). Financial viability should be restored to the utilities by removing price controls and allowing them to charge whatever the market will bear. And if some of the poor and elderly customers that the bleeding heart liberals care so much about can't afford light or heat, maybe it's time they learned that that's what being poor is all about.

Beyond that, with the government now firmly in Republican control, we have a clear mandate to deal this liberal/commie/tree-hugger conspiracy a mortal blow before it threatens the fundamental values of this nation. And don't kid yourself, threat is very real. If you decompile their rhetoric, you'll see that while these tree huggers appear green on the outside, on the inside their heart beats commie red. Any real American finds the assertion that profit is "obscene" is repugnant. Obsenity is the drivel being pedaled by the liberal media and the Hollywood elite. Profit is the cornerstone of a free market society, and any commie-inspired attack on profits goes straight to the foundations of our Republic. Likewise, the concept of "public lands" or "public trust" flies in the face of our American heritage. This country was founded on the principle that the land, and everything on it or under it, belong to anyone who could stake a claim and make it stick. To suggest any thing else is purely un-American. Hell, if an American is lucky enough to book a hotel room in Yosemite, he'd find the place jammed with more foreiners then the terminal at JFK. It's time to return these millions of acres of barren wilderness back into the hands of someone who can get some real use from them.

As I see it, the case is clear. Environmentalism is a cancer on our society and those extremists who advocate it are commiting treason and sedition, and should be held accountable for their crimes. Let's see what some time in a jail cell does for their "open-space conciousness". The time has come to free our nation from this lingering tentacle of the red tide of the 60's. As our greatest American, Ronald Reagan, once said, "When you've seen one tree, you've seen 'em all".

Because it's Right

Because it's the Truth

Because I said so!
