The defection of the traitor Jeffords from the Republican Party points to an emerging threat with ramifications far beyond the loss of GOP control of the Senate. Yes, the fall of the senate into the hands of the liberal insurrectionists is a serious blow to the Bush agenda and in particular our efforts to remake the judiciary in our image. And, yes, this act of treachery plays directly into the hands of the Clinton conspiracy in their efforts to re-seize control of the government from it's rightful owners. But there is something much more insidious...and much more threatening...at work here, something that should sound and alarm for every true conservative.

All of us have long been aware of the threat from the left...the constant vigil that must be maintained against the erosion of our values by the godless liberals with their marxist agenda. But only a handful of us realized how far to the right the left extended. Only a very few recognized the cancer which lurked within the GOP, waiting to erupt with all it's malignant vengeance.

I'm talking of course about the "moderate" Republican, a cold blooded political animal with luke warm convictions smothered in his own self-interest. Oh yeah, he's with you on the tax cut...as long as it's not TOO big. And he's all for cutting government spending...as long as it's not TOO much. But he's got no stomach for the hard fights, the dirty fights. You start talking about doing something about abortion, or immigration, or homosexuality, or welfare...when it's time to go to the trenches against the environmentalists or the feminists or the unions or the anti-gun lobby or the anti-tobacco lobby, suddenly he's out in the hallway talking compromise and bi-partisanship.

Jeffords is a prime example of this breed of "big tent" sissies. He had the audacity to cut a deal with the liberals to geld Bush's tax plan. Then, when he received his justly deserved come-uppance for his treacherous collaboration with the enemy, he picked up what was left of his marbles and ran home to Milk-toast-ville, and straight into the waiting arms of the Clinton conspiracy. Jeffords' defection proves that the moderates are nothing more than closet liberals whose loyalty runs as deep as their convictions.

WAKE UP AMERICA! For years the true believers in the party have regarded the moderates as a necessary evil, an easy source of votes and campaign cash. A somewhat unsavory alliance that needed to be tolerated so long as they fell in line and voted our conscience. But as the liberal apocalypse looms on the horizon, the fate of the party and the nation...indeed the fate of democracy throughout the world...demands an unflinching and uncompromising adherence to the conservative leadership. Battle with the forces of darkness, in the form of the Clinton conspiracy, is imminent, and only those with an unwavering allegiance to the cause will survive. Those who do not share our vision must be weeded out of positions of leadership within the party and within the government. If we are ever to have a society we can be proud of where our values are respected, we, the true voice of the movement need to stand together and say with one voice that the meek shall inherit the earth when they pry it from our cold dead hands.
