The
Weser river: a sea ship is going to Bremen. |
|
| When I was 11 YO, my family relocated to Bremen (Google maps). After having been a sailor (officer and captain), my father became a pilot on the Weser river. So it was much more convenient for him and his family living in Bremen whose port was the starting point of his pilot jobs: giving the correct course for the ships leaving or coming to Bremen. | In Bremen I got to know the theatre of Peter Zadek, a very famous German stage director, and the playing of Bruno Ganz who had come from Switzerland, Edith Clever, and some other actors. I joined a dramaturgical workshop, lead by Thomas Valentin (author of play "Die Unberatenen"), in 1965/66. |
Bremerhaven: on the left side the mouth of the Geeste river. The white house with
a red roof, at the path to the mole, is the residence of the Weser pilots in Bremerhaven.
The Weser river curves from 8 hours and is floating to 11 hours.

Low tide: Fedderwardersiel at the left side of the mouth of Weser river. On the opposite side: the container terminal of Bremerhaven. |
