Sometimes when we run across an interesting/unusual/informative book, especially an old and out-of-print one, we like to bring it to your attention. Here's one:

De Lattre de Tassigny, Jean. The History of the French First Army. London: Allen and Unwin, 1952

The most easily overlooked of the Allied armies engaged in the 1944-1945 campaigns in France and Germany is portrayed in minute detail in this book by its commander. Well written and well translated. Anyone who thinks France had no spirit to rejoin the war should read about these battles. A classic.
