Introduction
My name is Caine Hörr and I have been working as an IT professional since 1991.Project Management
Over the course of my career, I have worked on many special projects for various companies and organizations throughout the Northern California, greater Bay Area region.Past special projects include:
- 2011: Migrated Leland Saylor and Associates network from their former office on Market Street, San Francisco to their new office on Montgomery Street, San Francisco within approximately 13 hours.
- 2010: Assisted the College of Marin with the deployment of their very first LAMP server while cutting cost of ownership down to approximately $1,188 in man-hours alone
- 2010: Migrated and maintained a microcomputer lab from Windows XP Professional to Windows 7 Enterprise for the College of Marin
- 2009: Engineered and deployed three Windows 2003 Active Directory networks for the Petaluma Unified School District
- 2008: Managed and implemented a new intranet repository within 54.5 hours for Kaiser Permanente of Santa Rosa
- 2008: Engineered and deployed BricsNet FM America’s new, scalable, enterprise-grade network monitoring solution in corporate, pre-production and production networks
- 2006: Moved GroundWork Open Source Solutions’ network infrastructure from Emeryville, CA to San Francisco, CA in one month
- 2002-2003: Designed the front-end interface for the County of Sonoma’s $12-million, 13-agency, 911 Computer Aided Dispatch system with over 80,000 lines of hand-coded HTML, JavaScript/JScript, CSS, VBScript, XML, and ActiveX integration for 7 proprietary, local and national law enforcement databases
- 1999-2000: Supported SOLA Optical USA in becoming the world’s first company to deploy SAP/R3 in less than 18 months

I have been providing desktop support and network integration of Apple Macintosh OS X hardware and software since 2006.I have worked with the following Apple Macintosh OS X operating systems:

Apple iPhone/iPad
I have been supporting the Apple iPhone platform since 2008. I have supported the iPhone in corporate networks by providing wireless access, VPN, and Microsoft Exchange connectivity. I have worked extensively with all versions of the iPhone.I have been supporting the Apple iPad 2 platform since 2011. I am currently developing a community education curriculum for the College of Marin aimed at iPads for Business users.
Linux / UNIX
I have been supporting Linux/UNIX based desktop and server systems in a limited capacity since 2006.I have worked with the following Linux/UNIX based operating systems:

- Ubuntu Linux (Workstation)
Virtualization
I have utilized VMware ESXi Server 3.5 since 2008 and Sun (now Oracle) VirtualBox since 2009. I have also utilized VMware Server on Windows workstations and Apple Bootcamp and VMware Fusion for OS X.Network Monitoring
Through the use of GroundWork Monitor Community Edition (CE), and the Windows nrpe_nt daemon I have provided 24/7 network monitoring with escalation and reporting services.Additionally, I have integrated the VMware perl API tool kit into GroundWork Monitor CE along with various nagios scripts written in perl to provide real-time monitoring of VMware ESXi Servers.
Web Design
I have been designing, administrating, and providing content management services for static web sites and e-commerce web sites since 1997.Starting in 2009, I have been actively involved in designing and maintaining personal and client web sites leveraging the WordPress blogging platform in conjunction with various SEO and social networking tools for the purpose of online marketing and web traffic generation.
I am currently certified through New Horizons Computer Learning Center in Advanced HTML 4.0. I also hold a secondary certification (expired) in HTML 3.2 from BrainBench.com.
