Luciano x Caisse pups

Born October 13, 2000

Nine Weeks Old

Puppy testing weekend! Testers were Sue King (Partager Great Pyrenees, Riverside, CA), Angie Meroshnekoff (White Dog Ranch, Petaluma, CA) and Debi Carpadus (Whitefire Great Pyrenees, Kelsey, CA) Sue has raised two litters of Luciano-sired pups, threel of which are Champions, others have points toward their championships. Angie raised this litter for me, and has been breeding Pyrs on her own for over 20 years. Debi has finished Luciano and three of his four champion sons and is presently handling his daughter in the ring.
Pups were evaluated structurally according toPat Hasting's Puppy Puzzle video and temperament was evaluated using tests we ourselves have developed over 30 years of placing working dogs.

WrongWay
Little WrongWay scored suprisingly high on both structure and temperament. We had overlooked him because his brother was so much larger. He is the more aggressive of the two males, and the most willing to explore new things. He has one of the strongest front and rear assemblies and is well suited to his future as a range dog.
Elvis
Elvis is, obviously, a people-lover. His disposition is the one most like his father, Luciano. He has beautiful bone and promises to be as large as his half-sibs Luke, Tim, Zeke and Milo
Sweetie
All the pups' fur looks "slept in" because they have been romping in the field, the creek, rolling in the mud, and generally behaving like normal puppies! This is Sweetie. Of all the pups, she is the most people-oriented. She also has the most beautiful head. When held, she cuddles and lies still, content to be petted as long as you are willing to do so. She is going to a wonderful home with two very sweet young girls to play with, guard and love.
Baldwin
Baldwin is also very people-oriented. As she has gotten older, she has decided that people are more fun than sheep or even littermates. She has started her crate-training, learning that she is let out when she is quiet. Although her tests show she is suited as a livestock guardian, her personal perferences definitely lean toward being a member of the family.
Diva
Diva, named for her demanding attitude as a small pup, is a well balanced bitch with an independent attitude. She has the heaviest bone of the bitches. She is also the least interested in people. She is an excellent prospect as a range dog.
Spinnet
It was hard to get Spinnet to stand still for a picture. She was much more interested in what the dogs in the field were doing, who was barking and what else was going on around her. She has a head that promises to be very elegant as an adult with good dentition for an excellent bite. She has a level topline and an excellent front assembly. Her temperament is suited to a family farm where she interacts with both livestock and people.
Christie
Grammy has been renamed "Christie" in honor of Agatha Christie and is being registered as Pompier First Edition. She is co-owned by Angie with Sue King. Christie will join Sue's other Luciano daughters in Riverside, where she will have the run of The Lagoon and will understudy her half-sisters as a show dog.
Seven
"Seven" isn't related to the pups, but she has watched their growth with great interest and here is on the flatbed out in the field, overseeing our testing.
