I was born in Missoula, Montana. We moved to Ukiah in 1962 and then to Santa Rosa in 1966, where I attended Piner High School and the SRJC. I enlisted in the Air Force in Dec 1975. I attended my Tech school in Denver. My job was "repair and calibration of electronic test equipment". I was then stationed at Shaw AFB in South Carolina for 1.5 years then sent to San Vito AS in Italy for 1.5 years. After I was honorably discharged in 1979, I enlisted in the Air National Guard. I eventually retired from the Military with 21 years of service. I have spent the past 26 years working for the Santa Rosa Post Office, in varying capacities. I was a carrier for 10 years and a Vending Machine Tech for 16 years. I have been in Post 21 for the past

Avenue of Flags--Held every year on Memorial Day. Approximately 1000 casket sized flags are posted at the Santa Rosa Memorial Cemetery. This is done with the help of many volunteers beginning at 6AM. Coffee & doughnuts are served prior to the labors. Boys State-- Bud Simmons--Interviews are held at 5 high schools in Santa Rosa. To select one candidate from each school to learn how the governments of city, county & state function. Reno Bus Trip--Bud Simmons, Fred Walton & Mike Burnett--A fun trip on a tour bus to Reno in October. Bingo on the way with prizes. Sea Scouts--George Siemon--The Ship Orion 132 is a valuable asset to the post with their help in many of the post functions. Rifle Squad--We are proud to have members who take part in the last ceremonies of the deceased veteran. They also take part in memorial day services. Drum & Bugle Corps--Play at special post functions such as the corned beef & cabbage dinner. Can you play a bugle or beat a drum? New members are always welcome. ROTC--High School at Elsie Allen.
