Tales from the middle east are filled with cleverness and fantasy.
The 1001 Arabian Nights, first written down in 1200, are perhaps the most widely known fairy tales in the world.
But there are many cultures in the cradle of civilization, as far apart as Egypt and Morrocco or Turkey and Pakistan.
They each have their own folklore. And their epics are the most ancient in writing, going back to Gilgamesh, 2500 BCE.
