Fellow retired pilot John Biggs and I took the ride to the San Francisco Fire
Department Training Center - down south of Market on 19th and Folsom - on
Saturday, September 22nd.

'Nice fog over the bridge, went thru the Marina - lots of folk out on the
lawns - rode up and over on Van Ness- down to the fire station.

The folks there arranged some fire hoses as drive markers entering the
courtyard. We were welcomed in and parked our bikes among the many already
there. We were a little late and people were already leaving.

John and I put donation checks in a firemans boot - I had donations from
Wayne Bonkosky and Stan Rosow and passed them along also. 'Not much hoopla
but it felt good to do.

Jim Fentress also showed up coming direct from Napa Valley.

Joe Fazio of Oakland CA VII Blue Knights and some white shirted fire
lieutenants thanked us for showing up.

Jim, John and I then enjoyed riding past Pac Bell, the Embaradero,
Fishermans Wharf - people were out enjoying the town.

We had a nice lunch at Caruso's in Sausalito and then took the ride over Mt
Tam's Panoramic Highway, down to Rt One and up the coast.
