No different than coordinating a fashionable ensemble, the artful wood fence must comply with the surroundings--simple open pickets and subtle joinery do justice to pine trees, mountain views, and the Truckee River.

In essence, the only separation on either side of the fence is the existence of a lawn, and if there is an actual function to a perimeter fence in such surroundings, we might consider the very real issue of 600-pound black bears drawn close by the scent of breakfast.
