 As with Fence Gate #57, the continuous pickets require either  Pattern Blocks or the arched cross-arm to stabilize the pickets from possibly warping or bowing from their original alignment.

  A slight variation in eliminating the two short horizontal rails on either side.

  One of the earliest CPW Wood Gates.  Created for a residence in Marin County, California in the early 1990's.  The photos appearing below were taken on a recent site visit in March of 2011. Interesting to note that Prowell also created the fence, about 6 or 7 years before eventually developing the signature Wood Fence Panel that has become such a prevelant fixture within the Prowell catalog.

 Charles was impressed to note that after 20+ years, there appeared to be signs of neither sagging nor distressed joints.  The teak beading along the arbor beams and at the bottom of the posts has been regularly oiled. 

  The original latch Charles designed and fabricate, d as a marriage of teak and stainless steel, gravity-weighted to self-close. 

 The Gate Arbor carries two levels of mortised picket-panels that lay into the assembly from above, topped with an arching layer of weathered copper tubes, shown below.
