Our simplest, most economical, and certainly most popular Driveway Gate Assembly is for those with a rough opening between posts or column that is 12' or less. This is a pair of gates that are 2-1/4" thick, with interlocking joints to preserve the structural integrity without ever sagging. It is hinged with 4" ball-bearing hinges and mounts in the same simple procedure as the pedestrian gates, to either 6x6 wood posts, or when mounting to stucco or masonry columns, the gates are accompanied with a pair of jambs, reducing the overall opening by 3".The Gates are built to your specified site dimensions. For automated gates, we suggest the armature style motors that mount on one end directly to the posts/columns, and the other end to the bottom horizontal rails of the gates. It mounts as the final step in installation of the gates. Below are links to these motors and where they can be purchased online. Their installation is simple and straightforward. With the wood gate weight at approximately only 125 lbs, the following models offer plenty of load capacity.

-Any of the above assemblies can be mounted to the lighted or unlighted CPW Columns as an architectural shoulder to your gates instead of wood posts, steel posts, or masonry columns. The pattern of the upper grid section of the columns can be modified to compliment the pattern of the Driveway Gate.Gate Columns aretwo-sided grids and pickets, with the other two sides as solid. When using 6x6 steel posts to hinge your gates, the Gate Columns are mortised to accept the welded arm drawn off the steel post, and slip over the post as 3-sided assemblies, with the fourth side applied on site. When using 6x6 wood posts, the same procedure as above is followed, with the exception that the hinges are standard 4" ball-bearing butt hinges and hinge directly to the Gate Column.Examples of this can be viewed at the following links

Double Driveway Gates sliding as a single span. --2-1/4" thickness, surface-mounted to a single exposed steel frame. The steel frame is constructed by your automation contractor, following the dimensional specifications called out on the CPW drawings to insure the frame and the gate are aligned properly. The posting can be 6x6 wood posts or masonry columns, as neither actually bear the load of the gate itself and simply act as alignment guides for the sliding rollers.Examples of this can be viewed at the following links:

1) A typical wood gate within the Continental United States ships FedEx freight. 2) FedEx may have additional charges if the site is not easily accessible to their trucks. CPW not be responsible for any of these charges. 3) When items are shipped motor freight, the items become the property of the purchaser when they leave the FedEx dock. Motor freight companies may have strict policies regarding damaged freight. If you sign for a damaged package without noting the damage at the time of the delivery, they will often not allow the claim. If you detect some damage to the crate, please make a note of this on the Bill of Lading the driver will ask you to sign. You do not need to refuse delivery or ask the driver to wait. Your signed note will be sufficient in the event of a claim. 4) Please make sure you understand the shipping options and how your order will ship before placing an order. Relax. We use durable, ribbed crates. As of winter 2005, only one shipment has arrived with damage. This, in June 2003, involved a small break on a single rail of a single panel and CPW replaced it without question. The fault was ours. Furthermore: A driver has been known to be of more assistance if you are to offer them some financial consideration, but this is not always a guarantee. Good luck and be safe in unloading your merchandise |
