Feeding
Feeding pet mice is cheap and easy.
Most pet stores offer packaged food and bulk food you bag
yourself. Just make sure the food you choose doesn't
contain too many sunflower
seeds, peanuts, millet, and other fatty seeds.
One of the healthiest diets you can
feed your mouse is rodent block. Most mice will pick
through their food, only choosing their favorite items and thus
missing out on many important nutrients. Rodent block is
essentially everything in regular rodent food, but in the form of
tablets about an inch long. I usually mix these with regular bulk
food to give my mice some variety.
Mice will enjoy treats such as small amounts
of fruits, vegetables, bread, light crackers, dog biscuits, and
healthy cereals. For an extra special dessert you can add a
bit of peanut butter to one of these snacks.
