It is very simple to keep a mouse content. However, the best toy you can provide for your mouse is another mouse! They are extremely social and will be lonely without a companion. This goes mainly for females, because males will often fight if housed together.

There are also many toys you can buy or make, such as wheels, plastic tubes, wooden huts, crumpled paper, paper towel rolls, and pieces of cardboard. You can give your mice shredded paper as a toy or for nesting material, but avoid giving them newspaper because of the ink used in its processing.

You will be surprised to see how entertained your mice will be with the simplest of objects!
