Playing lots of T.J. Kirk in honor of their reunion concerts tonight and tomorrow. The band is a Bay Area legend, consisting of three guitars and one drummer (Will Bernard, Charlie Hunter, John Schott, and Scott Amendola, respectively). They put out two albums on Warner Bros. in the mid-'90s but broke up afterwards, each member pursuing a solo career (and Hunter moving to NYC).

T.J. Kirk is an amalgam of Thelonious Monk, James Brown, and Rahsaan Roland Kirk. Their stuff is groove-oriented and fun, usually based on a tight, funky beat. Worth checking out if you've never heard of them.
