• Glenn Spearman, died in 1998; producer Don Paul this year brought us some of Glenn's last recordings.
• Gino Robair -- whose Buddy Systems CD features a slew of local and local-at-heart musicians like Carla Kihlstedt, Matt Sperry, Tim Perkis, Dan Plonsey, Oluyemi Thomas, and Myles Boisen.
• Sonny Simmons -- Free-jazz veteran still playing in SF, who was granted steady work in the form of a weekly gig at Bruno's. If you haven't seen him and his awesome band yet, you're missing out!
