Two gorgeous sites

First, the long-awaited official Sleater-Kinney site. They hired an extraordinary designer for their new official site. It's an absolute visual treat. Simple, elegant, and spare. Carrie has a multimedia section entitled "Blue whale vs. electric guitar" which pretty definitively shows that humans are not the loudest mammal. As you click around on the whale, elements of the band's personality express themselves through interface. Corin's section is a sphinx with clickable parts. I gather Janet's section is TK.

It's rare that I've seen a band site that would appeal at an artistic level to someone not interested in music. This is one of those. Give it a look.

Second, someone named Tracey, who takes amazing photographs and is a top-notch web designer to boot. The page is in a unique sideways-scrolling layout. It's sort of a photo-blog, updated pretty frequently. Some of her photos have more technique than soul, but there are a lot of gems there too, and the innovative site design helps.
