Eric Olof Johansson was born in Torrböle village. He was working
as a farmhand there when he met his first wife. He seems to
have had some trouble with the law and that is perhaps one of
the reason to why the family moved around a lot. He had twice
been caught stealing and the second time was. in april 1841
when its noted that he had to attend a 'kyrkoplikt', he was to
stand in front of the church so that every visitor could see
him and his shame Perhaps he stood by the pillory and was
publicly disgraced. This could also be one of the reasons why
his son Eric changed his last name. To avoid to be connected
with his father. Two years after his first wifes death Eric
Olof was remarried Eric Olof lived a long life and died at age
77.
