Four Family Gravesites

This is the gravestone for Maria (Mary) Rosa Babkirk at Holy Cross Cemetery. Although the stone says 1866 - 1914, other records indicate that she was born in 1867. This gravestone was placed here by her son Norman Babkirk about 1985. Her Husband, David P. Babkirk was cremated at Cypress Lawn Cemetery and his ashes were taken by Norman Babkirk in 1939.

The gravestone below is also at Holy Cross Cemetery is for Fernand, Lowell, Juanita and Edythe Babkirk - Sinclair (daughter of David P. Babkirk & Maria Rosa). Juanita (sister to Fern & Lowell) and Edythe Babkirk Sinclair, mother to all three are buried here. There is no marker or acknowledgement on the stone for Edythe or Juanita.

Below are two photographs of the Mt. Calvary Mound gravesite in Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma CA. The site contains the remains of 39,000 people who were removed from Calvary Cemetery in San Francisco in 1940, and reburied here. Those who were not buried with other family members are buried in this site. Joseph and Abbie Rosa's young children, Thomas Jefferson Rosa, Amelia Rosa, Abbey Rosa (1 day), Elizabeth Annie Rosa, Anna Rosa are buried here. At this time, it is unknown where Joseph and Abbie were buried, but I imagine that Abbie, who died in 1884, was buried at Calvary.

The Babkirk plots below are in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Colma CA. When I came to find this site, I was led to the Magnolia 1 area, but there were no markers for any Babkirks. The attendant went back to check his records and returned to say that this was the spot. So I laid down to have my picture taken and thought that this little park-like area was quite nice. Several days after visiting these sites, I received a letter in the mail confirming that the site below is the Babkirk plot, with the following people (including 3 new people whose names are unknown to me - perhaps daughters or grandchildren of Frederick & Ellen?) buried here, from left to right:
