Welcome to the Dutton-Goldfield Newsletter
We decided it was high time we began sending out a regular newsletter to our sales partners to update you on what's happening in our world, and give you news and reviews that will help you sell Dutton-Goldfield wines. Be on the lookout for communications from us with the latest reviews, highlights of coverage on our wines and the Russian River Valley in the press, new release information and more. And don't be shy about letting us know about any news you see so we can share it with everyone else.

Wine Reviews and Press
In February, Wine & Spirits rated the 2000 Galante Pinot Noir a 91, calling it an "extreme pinot" with "bold tannins, and blue-purple brightness".
…….
The April 2002 issue of
Wine & Spirits featured a story on Chardonnay along California's North Coast, and included a big picture and interview with none other than Dan Goldfield, resident expert on the Russian River Valley climatic influences.
…….
Cool climate grapegrowing was the focus of the
In Vino Veritas (invinoveritas.com) January story, with an extensive interview of Dan and wine notes. Our 1999 Dutton Ranch Chardonnay was described as "Gold, bright, a little silver tinge. Smells creamy and spicy. Well water aromas, tastes like caramel, almost sweet. Round, ripe tropical flavors. Then the finishing balance of citrus and crisp acidity is just perfect. Super value for around $6 a glass."
…….
TJ Foderaro's article "New Dutton label solves Russian River Valley puzzle" in the May
Star-Ledger features Dan and Dutton Ranch grapes. He says "Goldfield hits the mark with his initial releases. The 2000 Dutton Ranch Chardonnay is a model of balance and elegance, designed to complement food rather than impress judges in blind tastings." He also calls the 2000 Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir "excellent, a medium-bodied red with a spicy bouquet."
…….
The May 15
San Jose Mercury News article "Russian River Valley still Pinot Noir Star" says the wines from Dutton-Goldfield "show tremendous promise." Laurie Daniel notes the 1999 Dutton Ranch Pinot is "bright, fresh raspberry with good depth and structure. Full-bodied and delicious."
