Pleas from Pen

NORTH COAST PERSONAL

Robert Jones, #4054-22-6D, currently held in Pendleton, Indiana, is serving a life sentence for second degree murder in the shooting death during a robbery when he was 16 years old. He now is 39 and has served 23 years of that sentence. He was summarily refused parole on grounds of "nature and circumstance, seriousness of offense." However, his case compared with those of others who were granted parole, reveals what seems to be an arbitrary and discriminatory parole policy. Charles Fritz was sentenced to death for first degree murder by electrocution. His sentence was later commuted to life and he has been paroled by the Indiana Parole Board.

George Moon was sentenced to life for a murder for hire in the first degree. While he was serving the life sentence he was involved in an escape attempt in which the warden, his wife, and child were kidnapped. For his part in the attempt, Moon was sentenced to an additional 25 years. In 1984 Moon attempted to murder another prisoner. Yet George Moon has been paroled and given another chance in society.

Larry Currin was sentenced to life for first degree murder. While he served the life sentence, he was involved in the death of another prisoner, received an additional sentence, and later attempted to murder another prisoner. Yet Larry Currin was granted parole and given another chance.

Arthur Lewis was convicted in the death of a police officer during a bank robbery and sentence to life. While serving that sentence he escaped from custody and attempted escapes on other occasions. Yet he was granted parole and given another chance. Anyone or any organization involved in exposing the corrupted and arbitrary parole boards please contact Robert Jones. I have served 23 years and have documented proof that the Indiana Parole Board is abusing their authority.

They have denied parole to me and others here and cited "nature and circumstances, seriousness of the offense," but at the same time have released others who were far worse, even committing felonies while in prison. Please help us here with this wicked and obsolete criminal justice system in Indiana.

Any replies appreciated. Please sent to Robert Jones, 4054 / 22-6D, P.O.
