CHANGE OUR FLAWED SYSTEM!
The Electoral College is an anachronism. It was established in 1787 as a com-promise between Southern and Northern states. Why? Southerners claimed that the North would control the White House by mere popular vote because Northern populations were more dense. Part of the compromise was to consider SLAVES 3/5ths human for the purpose of giving greater weight to the vote in the South when calculating a Southern state's population and number of ELECTORS in the Electoral College.
Well, we don't have slaves anymore, and we don't need those kinds of compromises. The electoral college was a racist construct and should be eliminated. We also should not tolerate the 10 states (mainly in the South) who prevent convicted felons from voting. This disenfranchises 1/3rd of all black males in Florida, where they are convicted at a far greater number than Whites for the SAME crimes. This is a travesty.
This flawed system must be changed. If it doesn't change on its own, we must change it.
