by Kevin Frazier What is chemical warfare? It is designed to destroy and break down the molecular, bio-logical, and genetic structure of plant and human life forms. Since there are no more Vietnams, Albanias, or Desert Storms, the manufacturers of chemical agents and Florida DOC administrators are using these killer agents upon prisoners. Prison officials argue that these monstrous chemicals are needed for population control, but they only implement barbaric treatment of human beings.
I was assaulted three times with killer chemical agents simply because I am a prison litigator who assists other inmates in using the grievance procedures and laws to attack inhuman treatment by prison officials. Because I would not stop, prison officials retaliated with chemical agents. Other prisoners have been exposed to these chemicals and assaults simply because they were talking on the door or talking on the window. I have had the skin burned off my neck and arm, and I have witnessed prison officials laughing, joking, and spraying chemical agents all over an inmate's body, cell, property, etc. If that isn't excessive use of force, what is? The FDOC cannot maintain there is a dire need for chemical agents because there are no mass prison rebellions here.
The FDOC has found another destructive way to attack and assault prisoners or use chemical agents as a tool for petty grievances and differences. They can come to the cell of an inmate who is locked behind the door and spray can upon can of chemical agents, then run a 10- or 15- or 20-man assault team into the cell, take the inmate's mattress, soap, toilet paper, tooth paste, deodorant, underwear, T-shirt, socks, and pants, and make him sleep on a cold floor or steel/concrete slab.
Whatever affects prisoners also affects society because some of us will get out. If society allows its prison agents to make monsters out of us, the stage is set to unleash monsters upon society. Chemical agents are used to dehumanize and inflict pain and anguish. If the FDOC spent as much of the taxpayers' money on an educational/vocational trade system inside the prison and rehabilitation programs, the mental level of prisoners would elevate and tax dollars would be well spent. Our greatest fear is what is in the chemical agents being sprayed. Will they impair our ability to procreate? Will they cause heart, eyes, lung, liver, damage? All chemical agents should be taken from the Florida DOC. Chemical agents don't rehabilitate.
