FREE WEBPAGE/PENPAL REQUESTS FOR DEATH ROW INMATES
The Canadian Coalition Against the Death Penalty provides to death row inmates
webpages on the Internet, as well as individual pen-pal requests on our
pen-pal page (each state has a page of pen-pal requests ). The Internet
gives you a forum to let people all around the world see information on
yourself or your case from their personal computers at home or at work.
There are 2 options:
1. Pen-pal requests for inmates who wish to write to people on the outside.
Send us an outline of what you'd like to say to possible pen-pals, a little
about yourself, your address, and prisoner # where you can be contacted.
Your photo can also be sent (we'll send it right back).
2. Your own webpage, although it may take a bit longer. (We are 2 people
working out of our home in Toronto, Canada.) Some people use the webpage
to bring attention to issues in their case. Several wrongfully convicted
inmates online with information about their case got international support.
Others use the webpage for copies of their artwork, poetry, stories, etc.
or even just what they want to say to the world. Our webpages get a lot
of viewers from the media, students doing projects, as well as anti-death
penalty and human rights activists worldwide.
If you're on Death Row, there is NO cost to you ever! And the pages will
remain on theInternet forever unless you tell us to remove them. Our purpose
is to bring the real faces and cases on Death Row to the public's attention.
Reaction to our pages has been extremely positive, and many of those featured
have made new friends as well as received media attention, in some cases
investigatory help and financial assistance (don't get hopes too high, but
it can happen once you make connections and communicate with people in the
world who care). If you are a Death Row inmate, take down our address, get
a stamp, and send us your pen-pal request or webpage material (or both)
and picture. Then pass this note on to other Death Row inmates and GET THE
WORD OUT !
If you're on the outside and you support this important work, please make
a small donation toward our expenses, which are currently paid personally
and out of pocket. Checks to support the webpage outreach can be made out
to "Canadian Coalition Against the Death Penalty." International
money orders are recommended, though we also accept personal checks. Send
all webpage/pen-pal requests to: Tracy Lamourie & Dave Parkinson, CCADP
(Canadian Coalition Against the Death Penalty), 80 Lillington Avenue, Toronto,
Ontario, M1N-3K7, CANADA.
