Sequels To XFBandit's Stories
Seriously.
I am deeply flattered by the hundreds of requests that I get for sequels to my stories. When the first "round" of XFBandit stories posted in April, May and June of 1998, I was fairly hounded for sequels. With the publication of "WITSEC" in March of 1999, the demands for sequels began again.
As you should all now know, XFBandit is Dawson E. Rambo's psuedonym. Why 'el Bandito exists goes a long way to explaining why there will never, ever be a sequel to a Bandit story.
Bandit allows me to explore certain writing techniques. Most of the Bandit stories don't have any real heft to them. They're (forgive me) gossamer light tendrils of fiction, designed to allow me to test a certain theme, to write a scene I'd always wanted to see, or even just a single line of dialog that I'd made up and always wanted to see in a fic, but could never manage in any of my other stuff. (The line "...and kissing your partner is about six of them..." in Carnac Obsessions is one of those lines.)
When I publish a Bandit story...I'm done. Finito. No amount of begging, pleading, or bribing could ever get me to write a sequel. This is my final answer. This is most definately not an attempt to generate more feedback begging for sequels.
I hope you enjoy my Bandit stories. I know I had fun writing 'em.
