I am installing Glue-down parquet hard wood in house built in 1969. I removed carpet and a portion of subfloor has vinyl tile (probably was installed when house built). Vinyl appears hard to remove. Can I just install hard-wood flooring over the vinyl? Will the glue hold? What is the possibility of the vinyl containing asbestos? I appreciate all responses.
