: My living room looks like this:
: ______________________________________________________ : I have three questions. The first question is which way should I lay the planks? The second question is I know there is a 1/4" expansion gap required at all walls, but where the tile starts at the hallway the tile is even with the wall. If I only leave 1/4" gap how will be able to use a transition piece? And lastly how will I be able to do the alcove? Is it ok to double cut a plank like this to fit at the corners: : I'm not understanding your question about the tile transition. What's an alcove? We may have different terms to call it. I have never heard of alcove. Perry Wright

: Thank You for any help!
Run the planks which ever way you want to. Some say start along the longest wall.
