I'm in the process of refinishing an OLD floor; late 1800's. I've removed the carpet and now I'm scraping the tile off. My question is: After scrapping I'm left with a "black tar like adhesive" in most areas - Do I:
1)Sand this off? - Would this push the "tar" into the wood and destroy the finish?
2)Use Mineral Spirits or etc.?
