Answering you question, you will not find a cross reference. One must walk the store to locate the same style under one of the mills other labels. Mills are excellent at hiding this info. I use the mattress industry as an analogy.
Mohawk's Portico/Grand Regency and Shaw's Home Foundation lines are private label for builders. Each mill provides the line to protect builders from product drops due to long construction lead times, allow the mill to better monitor builder orders for rebate dollars (.20-.50 yd), and confuse price shopping between builder offerings and a home center.
Carpet will ultimately boil down to weight, fiber type, & stain protection. Chose branded yarns (stainmaster)when possible as mill applied protection is just additional profit. Many carpets also carry a wear ratings so use this data. Installation is the life of any carpet so choose a shop with many local years in your community and have the carpet power streched as a knee kicker is strictly a placement tool.
In closing I find most people chose the least expensive carpet that meets their needs in color and style. Look for dense pile as weight much over over 42 oz. is fluff. If a better walk is desired upgrade the pad, not carpet, from 6lb to 7-8 lbs and by all means call your mill rep and report the carpet failure to see if additional pressure can be brought upon your vendor (their is a mohawk installation quide the vendor is should adhere too). You may be owed a concession.
