Dan,
I'm reluctant to tell you this, but Mannington recommends a 1/4" crown, 1 3/8" 18guage staple. You may be able to sand and finish those demples, but you will probably need some filler.
Good Luck,
Wally
: I am using the 1/2" wide, 2" length which is 15 guage. someone suggested
: the bostitch s3297 which drives a 3/16" wide 1" long staples into
: laminate/engineered wood, would the 1"length be sufficient enough?
: Can I sand down only the bumps and coat them with polyurethane?
:
: Thanks for all the help

: : Dan, what size crown and length are your staples?

: : : : : I am trying to install 1/2" Mannington engineered floor square edges with a bostitch flooring stapler. The problem is at a particular angle, at the point where the staples were driven and right behind it, I see a small bump or swelling at the local area. I tried increasing the pressure but results in cracking of the tongue. appreciate any suggestions.

: : : : Hi Dan,
: : : : Do you have the 1/2" plate for the Bostich? We nomally use a smaller Senco for engineered. The Bostitch has a large crown for engineered products. You may want to check your installation guide.

: : : I have the 1/2" plate on the stapler. which is actually 5/8 thick
