I understand using hardwood strip flooring in a basement is not considered a good practice. (I believe this concern is due partly to potential moisture variation and partly due to the potential loss associated with a flooded basement.)
My question is:
With a known dry basement and proper moisture barriers is it reasonable to consider using hardwood strip flooring in a basement, or am I inviting disaster?
