Grandmother's Basket

Note: This is a very preliminary version of the site... almost a prototype. The finished site will look a whole lot better, with *gasp* pictures!

Grandmothers Basket was formed to nurture partnerships with struggling indigenous artists and craftsmen whose options at the request of participating artists. The artists comprising Grandmothers Basket are working to reach beyond their communities to accommodate the arts and crafts of traditional indigenous communities.

Grandmothers Basket is dedicated to providing a marketplace for the traditionally produced Native American art and crafts produced by cooperatives and individuals working toward a sustainable future.

We meet regularly with Native American artists to share ideas and present fair trade options for themselves and their communities. For centuries Native American artisans have presented their culture through their art and craft. The arts tell the history and preserve the culture passed down from generation to generation.
