Support our troops in Iraq!

So George Bush spoke so forcefully about supporting our troops in Iraq. What a farce!! Bush is trying to be soooo conservative that he wants a cheap war. Never mind how much he endangers our troops. Now our troops are digging into junk piles to find enough armor to protect themselves. And what does Rumsfeld say??

You go to a war with the army you have, not the army you want or wish to have.
Donald H. Rumsfeld, Thursday, December 9, 2004

Is this what one calls supporting our troops??? How can anyone be so stupid that would believe that George Bush and his cronies truly mean "supporting the troops." Too bad guys.... just fight, get wounded or killed and shut up! After all, Bush was elected president by all those folks who shout "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" and proudly wave the US flag.

So many of the right wing conservatives are saying the liberals don't want to support our troops. Yeah, right. To support or troops we need to give them the necessary equipment to protect them the best we can in that miserable war. That means more armor, more weapons and more troops. To do that it takes money....money....money.

How about increasing taxes to pay for this ugly war?
Oh nooooo, say the conservative right.

How about having a draft and actually win this wrong war?
Oh noooo, say the conservative right.

Did any of those who voted for George W. ever stop to think how we are going to pay for this expensive war??? It is obvious that those "red" states who voted Bush into office simply cannot think. They are country bumpkins, the mentally challenged, the greedy corporate fat cats and the religious fanatics who were convinced that George is such a good Christian and will support our troops!! Oh sure. While our troops are being recalled back to harms way, we may very well see a nuclear bomb kill a few million people in an American city.

PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH

"First of all, what my opponent (Senator Kerry) wants you to forget is that he voted to authorize the use of force and now says it's the wrong war at the wrong time at the wrong place.

I don't see how you can lead this country to succeed in Iraq if you say wrong war, wrong time, wrong place. What message does that send our troops? What message does that send to our allies? What message does that send the Iraqis?" - George W. Bush, Presidential debate 2004

What can one expect of Kerry if the CIA was coerced into lying about weapons of mass distruction in Iraq? When it became evident that things were wrong, Kerry changed his mind as any intellegent person would do. Too bad Bush lacks the intellegence Kerry has, and the conviction to be able to say he made a mistake and change his course. No wonder the poorly educated country bumpkins foted for Bush. What a joke!

It is obvious how Kerry could have supported our troops and make that statement (wrong war, wrong time, wrong place). After all, Kerry did not start that war. If he is elected president, he will have inherited the wrong war, started at the wrong time and in the wrong place by the wrong president who was appointed by four Republicans disguised as Supreme Court Justices, not elected by the American people. Kerry would not have gone to our troops and said "You go to a war with the army you have, not the army you want or wish to have....." as Rumsfeld said.

SENATOR JOHN F. KERRY

Senator Kerry's response to President Bush:

"Yes, we have to be steadfast and resolved, and I am. And I will succeed for those troops, now that we're there. We have to succeed. We can't leave a failed Iraq. But that doesn't mean it wasn't a mistake of judgment to go there and take the focus off of Osama bin Laden. It was. Now, we can succeed. But I don't believe this president can. I think we need a president who has the credibility to bring the allies back to the table and to do what's necessary to make it so America isn't doing this alone.

Soldiers know over there that this isn't being done right yet. I'm going to get it right for those soldiers, because it's important to Israel, it's important to America, it's important to the world, it's important to the fight on terror. What I want to do is change the dynamics on the ground. And you have to do that by beginning to not back off of the Fallujahs and other places, and send the wrong message to the terrorists. You have to close the borders.

The president just talked about Iraq as a center of the war on terror. Iraq was not even close to the center of the war on terror before the president invaded it. The president made the judgment to divert forces from under General Tommy Franks from Afghanistan before the Congress even approved it to begin to prepare to go to war in Iraq. And he rushed the war in Iraq without a plan to win the peace. Now, that is not the judgment that a president of the United States ought to make. You don't take America to war unless have the plan to win the peace. You don't send troops to war without the body armor that they need.

I've met kids in Ohio, parents in Wisconsin places, Iowa, where they're going out on the Internet to get the state-of-the-art body gear to send to their kids. Some of them got them for a birthday present. I think that's wrong. Humvees -- 10,000 out of 12,000 Humvees that are over there aren't armored. And you go visit some of those kids in the hospitals today who were maimed because they don't have the armament.

I don't know if he (President Bush) sees what's really happened on there. But it's getting worse by the day. More soldiers killed in June than before. More in July than June. More in August than July. More in September than in August. And now we see beheadings. And we got weapons of mass destruction crossing the border every single day, and they're blowing people up.

And we don't have enough troops there." - Senator John Kerry, Presidential debate 2004

Senator Kerry as president would not have started that war in Iraq without the collective agreement of many nations, but he would have in Afghanistan and would have finished the job.
