God, how I hate the brigans. Why, why, why couldn’t I have had some ordinary light troops? Instead, I get to field four to twelve brigans (classed as Ax(X)). They are inferior when facing other auxilia, can’t kill psiloi, and cost just as much as Ax(O). Oh, but you get to stack them three deep so that they can die in droves and bust your command quicker! Unless I want to create a maximum breakpoint list, I just take the minimum and hopefully stick them on the baseline. Unfortunately, I have a tendency to mistake them for troops that could actually be effective in some role, no matter how minor, usually to my later regret.
