C'est la Guerre - Parade Ground - Genoese crossbowmen

The French are allowed six elements of Genoese crossbow (Reg Bw(O)). Although I have sometimes used them in conjunction with the pavisiers, bow don’t work all that well unless you have a lot of them, and the French don’t get enough of the same type to effectively use them. As it was, the Genoese opened up the French attack at Crécy with disastrous results, being driven back by the English longbowmen and then ridden down by the French knights. Makes my desk job seem positively cushy in comparison!
