The town and Countship of Dammartin (Dammartin-en-Goele) is found fifteen miles northeast of Paris, and was held by Count Charles of Dammartin at the time of this army.
The town and Castellany of Vez is located about forty miles northeast of Paris. The countship of Valois takes its name from the Latin version of Vez (Vadum), for which it served as an early capitol.
