Movies

I think I was a bit too ambitious in previous years, trying to be general resource on various types of movies and music.  From now on, this section is going to focus more on my opinions and impressions regarding a smaller set of topics.  I'll leave the general reviewing to people and websites that are better at it...

• Anime
  Japanese animated films and series span a much wider dramatic range than those in just about any other country, especially our own.  It's a real treat to see animation used as a truly artistic and entertaining medium, not just as a pacifier for the pre-teen set.

• Hong Kong Cinema
  Returning soon!  The unique blend of Chinese culture and western storytelling in Hong Kong films is quite captivating.
