WinKaraoke Player and Creator are computer karaoke playback and editing programs, respectively. These programs were written while I was attending high school and community college.

I enjoy listening to music and singing, so when multimedia capabilities were introduced into personal computers, I took advantage of the opportunity to design and implement applications that were previously only available with expensive home video and stereo equipment. WinKaraoke Player allows users to enjoy singing by following lyrics with an animated bouncing ball that is synchronized to the tempo and melody of the song.

The karaoke file format (based on the MIDI specification) was previously developed by a commercial company that did not sell many songs. Popular music in the MIDI format can be commonly found on the Internet, so I wrote the editing application WinKaraoke Creator to allow users to add lyrics to songs. The music is displayed with staff notation, and users place the syllables of text underneath the corresponding notes in the melody.

WinKaraoke Player and Creator are now free programs that remain popular to this day with users from around the world.
