After 24 years, I was back in the Philippines and Brent School once again. This time it was with my wife, Tammy, and my 3 children: Ryan, Nathan, and Amanda. It was a lot of fun showing my family the school that was the center of my life for 2 years.

The Brent School campus is still basically the same as it was when you and I were there except for some new buildings (e.g., the gym) and some missing buildings (e.g., Hamilton and the Administration building). Otherwise, the campus is the same - beautiful and peaceful. Neutral is still called neutral - I met a recent graduate who confirmed this.

I visited the campus between Christmas day and New Years day so the campus was deserted.

However, I met Freddy's son who follows in his father's footstep and works in the canteen, George Latawan (driver for the school; pictured above), Marcial Esquejo (bookstore and canteen accountant back in my days but now the school's acountant), and Amelia Sinlao who is still a member of the school business administration.

I also tried to look up Mike Pearson at his store in Nevada Square (just outside the gate of John Hay), but he was not at his store.

The school administration offices are now located on the first floor of Ogilby Hall. (I hope I'm getting all these names right!). And I finally got to see the waiting shed (located next to the guard house) that my class ('71) donated to the school. I actually even saw my name on the brass plaque above its entrance - the plaque needs cleaning!

Here are additional pictures I took of the Brent School campus on my trip.

Updates: (March 30, 1997)

Richardson Hall is now a girls dormitory.

George Latawan retired at the end of the 1996 school year. George had been at Brent School since 1957!

The waiting shed donated by my class ('71) will be demolished and replaced with a new shed to be donated by the Class of '97. At least it lasted for 26 years!
