While most of the group (Gerry, Shirley, Karl, Gretchen and Jennifer) met Thursday afternoon at the patio bar of the Marriott in Long Beach, Fern, Charlie and Craig played nine holes of golf; and Bill and Ruth Irvine (who flew in from the Chicago area) lounged poolside until discovered by Jennifer and Gretchen.

Several beers later, joined by Damon, Kathleen and Stan, we all went to have Korean barbeque in Torrance. Sated by way too much food, we went back to the hotel, poolside for coffee and drinks.
