Saturday brought the group to Balboa Island. We took a brief ferry ride to the Island and walked around before stopping for lunch. After being seated for about ten minutes, it was noticed that Charlie was missing. Jennifer and Bill went to look for him and with the aid of a cell phone he was soon located. We were afraid that we might have to post his photo on a milk carton! Gretchen received news that she had been offered a new job and that she would be returning to San Diego. After good-byes were said, it was back to Long beach. No race this time; Bill was seen taking off before the others reached their car, in spite of Bill's cell phone call to the contrary.
