Yes, there were tunnels under Ogilby Hall.

Ogilby Perhaps you will recall the two large doors at the entrance to the dormitory upstairs (well, it used to be that way when I lived there). Just inside the doors was a wide staircase leading to the second floor that housed freshmen, sophmores, and juniors (the juniors having the rooms that could be closed off with a curtain). At the base of the stairs were two steps attached together that could be removed by lifting and tilting the base toward you. My roommate and I used to sneak out of the dorm at night through this opening. This was necessary because the dorm proctor would lock the large doors to keep all the boys in the building.

If you crawled under the building (toward what used to be the headmaster's office), there was a tunnel that exited just below the senior dorm closest to Ogilby Hall.

During my senior year and after having discovered the wonders of chemistry, my roommate (same one from my junior year) and I would crawl back into the locked stairwell via the steps and place fire crackers with long timed fuses made from string soaked in potassium chlorate in the "KEEP BRENT BEAUTIFUL" trash can at the base of the stairs. We would crawl back to the senior dorm (by the way I think you and I had the same room... but that's for another letter), and wait for the explosion. The metal trash can in the enclosed stairwell helped to amplify the sound. BANG!! and that would put an end to "lights out" for an hour or more.

Gary lives in Beltsville, Maryland (15 minutes from Washington, D.C.), and teaches science at D. D. Eisenhower School in Laurel, Md. He and his wife (Ellen) have two sons: Greg and Brent (named after the school).
