What? A job?!?

I mean ... WHAT A JOB!!!

Research and Development for NETwork EXtensions. (also for GooseMail, WineCom, RXlistCom, MailBossCom)
Surf the net, look at pages, read newsgroups, get on E-lists. Stay up on the subjects of the net and try to gauge directions various technologys might be headed. Try to stay aware of what is already done and available so that we don't waste efforts and resources re-inventing something. Operate off of various keyword-lists offered by officers of the company and forward articles of interest to their mailbox.

WOW! I get to telecommute. I dial into work from home. I get up in the morning and go to work. I dont have to dress, drive, park, etc. etc.
I have ready access to windows, tv, radio, fridge, microwave, bathroom, and my son who has special home care needs. I have control over my hours, no dress code, and rare disturbances from bosses.

In their favor, they get alot of hours since I dont watch my cutoff times and overlap alot of my playtime as I come across things of interest to us. I always maintain at least two seperate accounts on completely seperate networks/feeds, and 2 computers with 2 phone lines; so I dont have any "transportation problems" getting to work. I have very few sick days. For one thing I dont catch the "office flu" that gets passed around every office every year. And even if I do get sick with the flu or a cold I can still work. They save on things like insurance and safety-standard compliances by not having me work on site. Plus I'm willing to work for alot less than what they would have to pay me to suit-&-tie for a drive into the city!

Oh I also sideline filling in as Email Support for ISPs. Mostly internet or unix questions.

I would like to get back into teaching (internet and computers). Or some other public speaking such as demos, lectures, public sales such as shows and conventions. Until then these jobs will do fine. I may get a few more. Id prefer to get percentages or maybe barter in some small startups though I guess money can be nice too. At the moment I am making anywhere from 8 to 30 dollars an hour depending on the fun-work ratio of each job (in other words how interesting it seemed to me). So far Ive turned down all the higher pay ones because they couldnt hold my interest.

Overall it's a sweet arrangment. Don't look for me to give it up anytime soon. :)
