The portfolio of images presented here was captured during the numerous antiwar rallies that preceded the March 2003 invasion of Iraq by US military forces. The concept for the site was sparked by the initial bombing of Baghdad. At that moment it was all too clear that innocent civilians would pay a high price, as collateral damage, for the political agenda of the US government and the removal of a totalitarian regime.

I could not remain quiet and helpless. Initially these images were placed in selective businesses sympathetic to the idea that relief agencies would play a vital role in bringing needed aid to those suffering the direct impact of war. As it turns out the need is greater than could ever be imagined

This web site was then created to do the work of one thousand storefronts. The country of Iraq has been bombed for weeks; its civilian population put in harms way due to the reckless fighting on both sides of the combat; its vital infrastructure in shambles (except for the oil wells), hospitals and museums looted and with that in mind the sentiments of the images become all the more powerful.
